Handcrafted in Tasmania
My work explores light, texture, form and the quiet narratives found in nature.
With a background in Art & Design, followed by a Higher National Diploma in Ceramics & Hot Glass (UK), my practice is grounded in formal training and a deep respect for craftsmanship. Earlier in my career, working as a production jeweller in silver and gold sharpened my eye for precision, balance, and material sensitivity - qualities that continue to inform every ceramic piece I create.
I work with midfire, stoneware and porcelain, moving between functional wares and sculptural forms. I enjoy the tactile possibilities of clay, using texture, illustration, and organic form to create pieces that invite both use and touch. I am particularly drawn to porcelain for its translucent qualities and the way it captures and diffuses light, revealing depth, softness, and subtle surface detail.
Nature is a constant source of inspiration in my work, shaping the forms, surfaces, and stories within each piece. Living and working in coastal north west Lutruwita/Tasmania, where forest meets the ocean, I am surrounded by shifting light, weathered textures, fungi, tidal edges and organic detail. These quiet encounters with landscape and everyday ritual find their way into my ceramics through layered surfaces, hand-drawn imagery, and forms that echo the natural world.
Whether functional or sculptural, each piece is a reflection of place, atmosphere, and the beauty found in subtle details.
